Throughout month of August, Shinyheart Productions and Flight Path Theatre are presenting Lights Up Kids Fest: 12 Day Celebration of Children’s Theatre and Performing Arts in the heart of the Inner West.
In an interactive, family friendly showcase that will delight the little ones, Especially on Birthdays explores a sibling relationship between a pair of twins about to turn six. But Tim doesn’t want to celebrate his birthday, because turning six means he will separated from his older twin when they move to different classrooms.
As with any childhood dilemma (eating veggies, going to sleep on time and putting on socks) parents and carers will appreciate this adorable 43-minute performance that invites the little ones to participate on stage and play.
As well as being suitable for children age 3+, mums, dads and carers will love revisiting their childhood through the magic of Especially on Birthdays.
Especially on Birthdays is part of a larger program of events designed to facilitate a community spirit of wholesome wellbeing. These include:
Kids Drama Workshop: Join a fun interactive drama workshop hosted by Inner West Drama to playfully explore the show’s themes of friendship and kindness, building confidence through connection, creativity and play. Starts 10 minutes after most Especially on Birthdays performances. Age 4-12
WOVEN: Intergenerational Storytelling Project. The FREE ALL AGES community event, funded by Inner West Council connecting generations through stories, games and play. Connection and laughter guaranteed. 17-18 Aug at 2pm. All ages
GLOW: A chance for Kids from local primary schools and performing arts groups to light up Flight Path Theatre’s Main Stage with performances in drama, music and dance.
